Nisshinbo Micro Devices has introduced the NL9620, Japan's first high-precision instrumentation amplifier for industrial applications, operating at ¡À2.3 V to ¡À18 V. The product is available starting today, July 11, 2025.

 

Meeting Industrial Measurement Demands

High-precision monitoring in industrial measurement instruments relies on specialized sensors, requiring instrumentation amplifiers with excellent accuracy and reliability, even for small differential input signals. Previously, Japan depended on foreign products in this sector. The NL9620 is the first domestically commercialized instrumentation amplifier IC, built on Nisshinbo's extensive experience in high-precision operational amplifier design, combined with proprietary process, trimming, and packaging technologies to deliver superior performance.

 

Performance and Features

The NL9620 is engineered for stable operation in noisy and harsh measurement environments, featuring a high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 130 dB typical (110 dB minimum at G=100) and robust electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performance. Its low input offset voltage (125 ¦ÌV maximum) and low offset voltage drift (1 ¦ÌV/¡ãC maximum) ensure high-precision measurements. The amplifier supports a wide power supply range of ¡À2.3 V to ¡À18 V, enabling integration into diverse systems. A single external resistor allows gain adjustment from 1 to 10,000, simplifying design, improving accuracy, and reducing development time.

 

High CMRR and EMC Capabilities

Using advanced trimming technology, the NL9620 achieves a CMRR of 130 dB typical (110 dB minimum at G=100), minimizing output voltage fluctuations despite significant common-mode input variations. This ensures reliable performance in environments with high common-mode noise, enhancing measurement accuracy. Its high EMC performance reduces rework risks and supports stable operation in challenging settings, such as industrial sensors and factory environments.

 

Packaging and Applications

The NL9620 is offered in a compact VSP-8-AF package (2.8 x 2.9 x 1.2 mm), with an EMP-8-AN package (3.9 x 5.0 x 1.65 mm) in development. It is ideal for sensor amplifiers in applications like strain gauges, thermopiles, and flow sensors, as well as transducer interfaces and weighing scales.
